Economic Prospects for 2010
Sunday, September 6th, 2009According to the Swiss unions, purchasing power will strongly decline in 2010 as prices rise, inflation begins, and salaries stagnate.
Economic predictions from government, unions, Swiss corporate boards, and press commentators are universally reserved or negative, but the unions have stood out particularly by their observation that standards of living and purchasing power are declining and that this will cause a much longer recession.
The rise in unemployment, along with rising premiums for health insurance, increases in the costs of other essential purchases, and stagnating salaries is expected to strongly brake domestic demand, further slowing recovery.
