Best Swiss Companies

In the current epoch of recession, layoffs, and general insecurity, employees are sizing up the best employers in Switzerland.

Recently a major Swiss finance magazine conducted a study on the best companies in Switzerland as Employers, examining them from the perspective of HR and employment practices.

At the top of the list, Raiffeisen Bank was considered the paradigm of socially and politically correct human resources practices and presenting the best environment for employees.

The top of the list was occupied by, in order: Raiffeisen, Proctor & Gamble, DuPont de Nemours, Nestlé, Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, the CIO, Coop, Audemars Piguet, and Lombard Odier.

Raiffeisen distinguished itself with its policy of 24 weeks of maternity leave, 3 weeks paternity leave, and additional family allocations of CHF 250 per month. The managerial level at Raiffeisen also gets paid vacation leave of 3 months after having clocked 12 years of loyal service.

The American Proctor & Gamble is known as a pioneer for its policy of promoting women’s careers (with extensible maternity leave, possibility to work part-time, partnerships with nurseries), and DuPont de Nemours is well known for its investments in continuing education for its employees.

All of which goes to show that some Swiss-based companies still have a sense of the impact of quality of life on quality of work.
